The desire to start a family can be an awful powerful one. If someone wants kids, they'll go through a lot to get them. Guadalupe Benitez went through a lot. She went to North Coast Women's Care, a clinic in the San Diego, California area, but was refused service by both her doctor and the clinic's medical director due to their religious beliefs.State Supreme Court Justice Carol Corrigan, one of the dissenting voices in the recent gay marriage ruling, said that doctors have a choice -- to help everyone or to find another line of work. While that's certainly not a final decision, it's an opinion I completely agree with. It's not up to a couple of doctors to decide who is fit to raise children and who isn't.

1. In my business, we discriminate all the time when we get a good idea that a potential client won't be able to pay. We may ask for a lot of money up front to ensure that we will get paid. Oh, how horrible of us, you liberals say. Go pick any other country to live in your socialist utopia. Leave this one to those of us who believe in liberty, which includes the liberty to run your business as you choose.
